DESCRIPTION

I am a student of electronics engineering at the University of Stuttgart.

Currently i am working on my fireworks controller for which this is the output board.

Taranis, which is a celtic god of thunder seemed to be an appropriate name for it.

This project started as a gift idea for my girlfriend but was kind of over engineered and never got finished.

With PCBWay sponsoring i could save a lot of hours of drilling/soldering vias by hand and finally bring this idea to life and to interested people all over the world. This will probably be released soon under some fancy open source license.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Up to 6 of these boards can be connected to the controller, with 8 short circuit protected outputs each. The output current can be measured by using the correspondig output of the Infineon high side switches. This way the controller can detect faulty or not properly connected fuses.

The high side switches are controlled by a shift register and the feedback current is measoured one by one trough an analog multiplexer.
