TONUS ETH Zurich – Improving Blood Pressure Measurement
We are a newly founded final-year engineering project at ETH Zurich and ZHdK with the mission of solving current issues with blood pressure measurement methods, which lack accuracy, are not necessarily continuous and can cause discomfort for the patient.
Concretely, we are exploring three novel measurement methods, which we will test and validate on a mock circulatory circulatory system we are developing on a test rig. This rig will simulate the various physiological properties of an arm, which will enable us to quickly and efficiently conduct tests on our methods, allowing for a rapid prototyping cycle.

PCB's
TONUS relies on PCB-design in all of its subteams: All three methods being developed require the integration of various sensors and therefore AFE's, which demands specific PCB's fit to the purpose of testing different signals.
PCBWay's support would enable our team to iterate on designs much more quickly, as they shorten the cycle from PCB-design to having the product at hand significantly. Being a student project with budget and time constraints, being part of PCBWay's sponsorship program would not just mean a boost to the amount of significant insights we can generate in the next 10 months, but also an increase in the learnings for the entire team.
Finally, TONUS will very likely be a student project that will keep developing beyond the 10 months of the initial duration. It would be a pleasure to have PCBWay as a supporter of this driven team.
Thanks a lot for this opportunity and we look forward to building with you,
The TONUS Team
