The internationally recognized Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired educates children and young adults who are blind or have low vision. Other projects worked on by EPICS ISBVI include braille to print English translation, and a magnifier to help low vision students read textbooks. The Tuner project is designing an instrument tuner for a music class at ISBVI. This tuner will output audio for the student's to tune their instruments effectively in class. It will have a microphone and clip-on tuner option as well as an option for headphones to be plugged in. This project is currently working on a minimal viable product using an Arduino to detect the given note being played and outputting how flat or sharp the instrument is.

The EPICS ISBVI project has the potential to drive social mobility by democratizing access to musical insturments for blind and visually impaired K-12 students.
