Mars Rover - Team Proboticists
Founded in June 2025, Team Proboticists is a student-led tech club based at IIT Kharagpur, India, comprising a team of 40 students. Our mission is to design and build complete robotic systems, participate in national and international competitions, conduct research across diverse robotics domains, and transform high-potential ideas into startup-ready projects.
We are currently working on two major projects, Mars-Rover Project and a Quadruped-robot(Propup), which embody our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and practical learning in the field of robotics.

Mars rover project, the team’s entry for the University Rover Challenge (URC) and International Rover Challenge (IRC) designed to operate as an astronaut-assistive next-generation rover. The team has been working tirelessly to bring this vision to life and has made significant progress within just a few months. With students from diverse backgrounds collaborating across disciplines, we are constantly innovating to enhance the rover’s design and functionality. We have already registered for IRC 2026, scheduled for January 2026, and are working with great excitement to achieve our goals
A project as sophisticated as a Mars rover cannot be realized without the use of custom-made PCBs. Our Embedded and Communications sub-system team have designed efficient Power Distribution Boards (PDBs) and other custom circuits to meet the rover’s power and communication requirements.
Power Distribution Board
The Power Distribution Board plays a crucial role in managing and distributing power from the 14S LiPo battery to all rover subsystems. It regulates multiple voltage outputs to supply the primary single-board computer (SBC), autonomous SBC with GPU, various sensors and payloads, communication modules, and motor drivers. Equipped with a kill switch and battery monitoring system, the PDB ensures safe, efficient, and stable power delivery to both control electronics and high-power motors, forming the electrical backbone of the rover.
The team would highly benefit from the support of PCBWay. As a new tech club dedicated to developing innovative robotics projects and taking them to the international level, we often face challenges in sourcing and manufacturing components within our budget and time constraints. PCBWay’s quick prototyping capabilities would greatly enhance our workflow, allowing us to gain valuable hands-on design experience while saving significant development time.
Partnering with PCBWay would not only help us realize our current ideas but also empower us to continue innovating and contributing meaningfully to the robotics community. We are truly excited about the opportunity to collaborate with PCBWay and bring our ideas to life through this partnership.
