Launchpad Spectrum Analyzer Kit
My Name is Daniel Fay, I'm a student at Rice University studying electrical engineering and computer science. I've always had a passion for electronics, enjoying designing circuits and devices in my free time. My goal with this most recent project is to produce a custom pcb which, combined with the code I've written, can be used to teach the fundamentals of both signal processing and more advanced coding techniques on a Tiva C Launchpad.
My project interfaces directly with the launchpad, collecting audio samples and outputing the result of an FFT calculation onto a pair of LED matrices. Each board is a 2-layer pcb (1 oz.), with smd pads on one side, 3.25" wide and 2" tall. The circuit consists of two 8x8 LED matrices, three 74HC595 serial-in, parallel-out shift registers, and some resitors.
