Fly-Mi - EUROAVIA Milano

Who we are

We are Fly-Mi - EUROAVIA Milano, the student association of the Politecnico di Milano dedicated to aeronautics and fixed-wing drone design. Our mission is to provide students with hands-on experience in every stage of aircraft development — from concept design to manufacturing and flight testing — fostering innovation, teamwork, and a strong engineering mindset.

Achievements

In 2025, we took part in the UAS Challenge, organized by the Royal Aeronautical Society, competing against 42 international teams. We proudly achieved 3rd place overall and won the Safety Award, a recognition of excellence in operational safety and technical reliability. These results reflect our commitment to high-quality engineering and the professionalism that drives every member of our team.

Current Challenge: ACC 2026

Building on last year’s success, our new goal is the Air Cargo Challenge (ACC) 2026, an international student competition focused on designing, building, and flying a fixed-wing aircraft capable of carrying the maximum payload while maintaining aerodynamic efficiency and structural integrity. This project pushes us to improve our aircraft’s performance through advanced aerodynamic modeling, structural optimization, and lightweight systems integration.

How it works

Our aircraft integrates a custom avionics system developed entirely by our members, including flight controller and power distribution PCBs. These boards ensure efficient energy management, stable flight control, and reliable communication between sensors and onboard systems. Together with aerodynamic optimization, structural design, and embedded software, this integration enables fully autonomous missions such as take-off, waypoint navigation, and payload delivery.

Our approach & impact

Each subsystem — from aerodynamics to electronics, from CAD modeling to firmware — is designed, built, and tested by students. This process allows us to gain real-world experience in aerospace design, systems integration, and rapid prototyping, preparing us to become the next generation of aerospace engineers.

Why PCBWay’s support matters

To bring our new aircraft to life, we rely on high-quality, reliable PCBs for flight electronics and power systems. Partnering with PCBWay would allow us to manufacture precise, durable, and high-performance boards essential to our mission success. Your support would directly contribute to advancing student engineering, innovation, and education in the field of aerospace technology — while showcasing PCBWay’s excellence in PCB manufacturing at an international level.
