BOLT is the electric motorcycle racing team at Virginia Tech. We build a 150 kW motorcycle that can hit speeds over 300 kph on the track. We manufacture our motorcycle completely in-house. This means we do everything from machining to 3d printing to PCB manufacturing. We aim to push the bounds of electric technology by creating a motorcycle that can beat gas motorcycles on the track. Our team is composed of a wide variety of Virginia Tech students ranging from electrical and mechanical engineering to data science and business.

We are currently working on several exciting new electronics projects. Pictured below is rev2 of our new power distribution unit (PDU). The PDU is responsible for all the power staging and regulation of the race bike. It also pairs with a microcontroller to report our power related data to our CAN network. Further below is our new module board. This will directly bolt to our battery modules and allow for simple connections for electrical and thermal monitoring.

PCBWay supporting our project would be instrumental in achieving our team goals! All of PCBWay's services would be very helpful to the team. We would like to thank you for any support you could provide!

I saw this at a stem event Last week and it was really cool. It was outside near a bunch of the other Virginia Tech stuff and I saw the real thing like this exact one in the picture. I just think that’s pretty cool.
