6th Annual Corbett Charity Drive
Go Slow Taco is hosting their 6th Corbett Charity Drive, an annual charity drive that raises money in honor of our friend Thomas Corbett who tragically passed away in 2020.
Corbett, on top of being a great person and a very good friend, was a big fan and early adopter of 3D printing. He even started a small print farm / aftermarket nerf hobby business named Containment Crew. This helped in part to pave the way to the huge boom in 3D printed nerf parts and full on 3D printed blasters.
In total our group has raised $20,000 with last year being our best year of $7250. All the money donated goes directly to The Joy of Sox, an all volunteer run organization that provides socks to those experiencing homelessness and other financial hardships.
As an extra incentive to get people to donate, we have a raffle where every $10 someone donates, they get one entry into the raffle. Because of Corbett’s impact on the nerf community, the bulk of the prizes focus on dart blasters, even having prizes donated directly from Nerf and Dart Zone as well as hobby shops and independent creators.
At its core, the Nerf Modding hobby is intrinsically DIY, that is why we would love to have the support of PCB Way. Any help provided will go right to our raffle in an effort to raise money for the Joy of Sox and encourage more people to design and create.
We’d like to have all of our raffle prizes finalized by the end of October to give us time to get publicity taken care of. Once our prizes are finalized, we get our promotional material to our partners with large Youtube, Discord, and Instagram followings to promote the drive.
Best Regards,
